Information for Those Wishing to Baptize a Child in Our Church

Baptism of Children up to 7 Years of Age

To baptize a child in our church, please first (no later than 1 month before the planned date of Baptism) contact the sacristy or email ppbaznycia@gmail.com to arrange and reserve the date and time of the Sacrament of Baptism.

Afterwards, please complete the Baptism registration form (details of the child, parents, and godparents). The form may be completed in the sacristy or downloaded and submitted no later than 2 weeks before the Baptism.

Baptism of Children and Youth Aged 7 and Above

Children and youth from the age of 7 may be baptized only after completing preparation for the Sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion.

Preparation classes take place from October to May. Registration is announced each September, on Sundays during Holy Mass and on the parish website.

Baptism of Adults

For adult Baptism, please contact the parish priest during office hours.

Who May Be a Godparent?

• Must be a Catholic (a non-Catholic Christian may serve only as a Christian witness).
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must have received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
• If married, must have received the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Items Required for the Baptism Ceremony

• a white baptismal garment (the child may be dressed in white beforehand),
• a baptismal candle,
• valid identification documents of parents and godparents (required in the sacristy before Baptism).

Priests’ Office Hours in the Sacristy

• Monday–Saturday: 8:00–9:00 and 15:00–18:30
• Sunday: 8:00–14:00
