Information for Those Wishing to Baptize a Child in Our Church<\/h1>\n

\"\"Baptism of Children up to 7 Years of Age<\/h2>\n

To baptize a child in our church, please first (no later than 1 month before the planned date of Baptism) contact the sacristy or email ppbaznycia@gmail.com<\/a> to arrange and reserve the date and time of the Sacrament of Baptism.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, please complete the Baptism registration form (details of the child, parents, and godparents). The form may be completed in the sacristy or downloaded and submitted no later than 2 weeks before the Baptism.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/h2>\n
Baptism of Children and Youth Aged 7 and Above<\/h2>\n
Children and youth from the age of 7 may be baptized only after completing preparation for the Sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion.<\/p>\n
Preparation classes take place from October to May. Registration is announced each September, on Sundays during Holy Mass and on the parish website.<\/p>\n
Baptism of Adults<\/h2>\n
For adult Baptism, please contact the parish priest during office hours.<\/p>\n
Who May Be a Godparent?<\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Must be a Catholic (a non-Catholic Christian may serve only as a Christian witness).<\/li>\n
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.<\/li>\n
  • Must have received the Sacrament of Confirmation.<\/li>\n
  • If married, must have received the Sacrament of Matrimony.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Items Required for the Baptism Ceremony<\/h2>\n
      \n
    • a white baptismal garment<\/strong> (the child may be dressed in white beforehand),<\/li>\n
    • a baptismal candle<\/strong>,<\/li>\n
    • valid identification documents<\/strong> of parents and godparents (required in the sacristy before Baptism).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
